I came to this hotel last minute for a mini spa break with family. Overall we had a lovely stay, it was relaxing and the grounds of the hotel were beautiful with the addition of it being the hottest day of the year so far - the aircon was a saving grace!
This is a lovely hotel, but it is in need of a renovation. The rooms, whilst nice and comfortable are dated and there are clear signs of wear and tear in the bathrooms, with mould on the walls and slightly broken shower head. The cleaning staff were noisy but I think that was because our rooms were close to their hub area. Whilst there are no complaints from me - I would want guests to be able to manage their expectations before going, as the accommodation is not up to par for a hotel of this price. It is strange to me that Macdonalds wouldn't have invested in upping the decor etc - it could be closer to 5*.
The staff were amazing, very helpful and attentive, which might have been a challenge as they had a wedding in but they made it very pleasant for all. However, the restaurant and bar are tiny and lack ambience - there was a cocktail list but none of the cocktails we asked for was available. The food was very tasty and service was good. Breakfast was busy but very well serviced and yummy.
I would recommend this hotel, but just warn to manage your expectations when thinking about luxury, it was not luxurious but very nice.
