In a city renowned for its culture, it’s perhaps not surprising to find a spa with such rich history too. Beautifully designed and making the most of its underground setting, moody lighting sets the scene for romance, especially in the pool housed underneath the brick arches. This subterranean sanctuary is all about the thermal experiences, including the hydrotherapy pool, foot baths and experience showers. Select from a treatment menu of massages, facials and beauty therapies to complete the package.

Hidden underground, Maya Blue Wellness at Titanic Hotel Liverpool is a superbly romantic experience. It is dark and sultry and there is a strong feeling of decadence under its brick arches. It is every inch a subterranean sanctuary. There is a gym and the wellness experience itself hinges on the thermal experience complete with a hydrotherapy pool, foot baths and experience showers - all geared towards relaxation.
Once you are suitably relaxed, retreat to one of the treatment rooms for face and body treatments using the Irish organic product line VOYA, famed for its use of natural seaweed to leave skin feeling purified, nourished and perfectly balanced. They also offer their own signature treatment journeys, manicures and pedicures using Jessica Nails.
A contemporary hotel that has history woven into it, Titanic Hotel Liverpool is located at Stanley Docks. From the outside, it still looks very much like a former Rum Warehouse, but enter the courtyard and you are greeted by a magnificently and sympathetically renovated hotel that ticks all the boxes. Ultra chic industrial design brings this hotel and its past to life alongside top technology, in a seductive environment where rooms are huge and beautifully styled - think exposed brick and plenty of original features.
Dining continues to bring a sense of the hotel’s shipping history with it. Stanley’s Bar & Grill is chilled out but extremely stylish - the kind of place you could brunch or dine with ease. Described as ‘a theatre of food’ with its open kitchens, you can meet the chefs and tuck into unpretentious dining. Meanwhile, the Rum Bar offers a spectacular cocktail menu for every occasion. Obviously there is very much a rum theme, although it’s not the only thing on the menu, bringing you a catalogue of smells and tastes from Guyana, Barbados, Martinique and Cuba. The hotel also offers banqueting and private dining that’s a magical experience in Rum Warehouse and West Bay - for those planning weddings, parties and special occasions.
