One Aldwych is housed in a Grade II listed Edwardian building originally constructed between 1905 and 1910 as the headquarters for the Morning Post newspaper. Designed by the Anglo-French architectural firm Mewès & Davis. The building was later repurposed for various uses, including housing the Ministry of Defence and Prudential Assurance Company. In 1998, it was transformed into One Aldwych Hotel, opening its doors as a luxury hotel in the heart of Covent Garden.
