When was Rushton Hall Hotel and Spa built?

Rushton Hall began in the hands of Sir John Tresham and his family in 1438, who owned it for nearly 200 years, before it passed to Thomas Tresham, who was knighted in 1530 and remained in the Tresham family until it was bought by the Cockaynes in 1614. Under the ownership of the Clarke-Thornhills, who were friends of Charles Dickens, it's believed to have been the inspiration for The Great Hall in Statis House, where Miss Haversham had her wedding breakfast laid out, in his novel, Great Expectations. Since then, the property embodied several guises - as a residence for British officers during the Second World War, and a school for the blind from 1959 having been purchased for £1 by the RNIB. In 2003, the privately owned family business, H I Limited purchased Rushton Hall. H I Limited, committing to maintain it for future generations.
