Stratton House Hotel and Spa is located close to Cirencester in Gloucestershire, and is easily accessible by road and train. If you're driving, from the M5 (Gloucester) exit at Junction 11a, take the A417 towards Cirencester, and leave at Quarry Junction, following signs to Stratton. The hotel is approximately one mile on the right. From the M4 (London) exit at Junction 15 for Swindon, take the A419 towards Cirencester, exit at the Cirencester town centre turnoff, and follow signs to Stratton. The hotel is about one mile on the left. The nearest railway station is Kemble, approximately three miles from the hotel. Taxis are available from the station to the hotel.

When was Stratton House Hotel and Spa built?

Stratton House was originally the home of 17th-century wool merchants, before becoming the home to a variety of other families across the decades. It remained a private home, and saw a period of use as a Civil Defence HQ during the war effort. It then became a hotel in 1947. In 2016 it was bought by the Stevens family who invested in it, turning it into the hotel it is today.

Stratton House Hotel is a three-star hotel and spa with 43 rooms and suites ranging from Splendid Rooms (Deluxe) - several of which overlook the walled garden, to Comfy Rooms (Superior) in the main Georgian house, and Standard Rooms, welcoming couples, small groups of friends, and families.

Dining is in The Garden Restaurant , which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving British fare using local ingredients wherever possible. There’s also The Oak Bar for drinks and more casual light bites.

Accessible facilities include:

  • The hotel has free on-site guest parking for 70 cars, with disabled spaces next to the main entrance of the building and also directly in front of the Cotswold wing of the hotel which includes the function room, the Stratton Suite.
  • There are no steps within the car park, enabling easy access to the front of the hotel and out into the gardens.
  • There are no steps into the main entrance of the hotel, neither are there any steps between the entrance, reception, bar and lounge.
  • Two low steps lead up from reception to the restaurant and also from the lounge into the Garden room, however they can provide ramps to assist with these if required, please ask at reception.
  • For guests who wish to eat alfresco or discover the gardens, there is a small step from the Garden Restaurant out onto the terrace. There is direct access directly to the terrace and gardens from the car park.
  • The function room, the Stratton Suite, is on the ground floor and can be accessed from reception as well as a separate entrance in the Cotswold wing.
  • The spa is accessible from within the hotel via the Garden Restaurant and from a separate entrance via the Garden. There are no steps at either entrance to the spa.
  • All of the spa facilities and treatment rooms are located at ground level with the exception of the nail bar. If required, the nail technicians can complete nail treatments within one of the five treatment rooms on the ground floor.
  • Many of the treatments can be adapted for those with access requirements. If you have any specific access requirements or are unsure whether a treatment could be adapted please contact the Spa team in advance and they can assist you.
  • The hotel has nine bedrooms on the ground floor, five of which have both shower and bath facilities and the remaining four with just a shower.
  • They also have an accessible bedroom, room 20, with a very large bathroom and walk-in shower, as well as a fire door enabling guests to exit the hotel quickly in the event of an emergency.
  • The hotel does not have a lift.
  • They do have a selection of rooms that are pet friendly and assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the hotel.
  • There are both male and female restrooms on the ground floor of the hotel in addition to a dedicated disabled toilet.
  • A member of staff is on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide additional assistance should it be required.
