- The Summer Edit
The Cotswolds have a modern tradition of making country life extremely chic, and that is the overriding vibe at the Elan Spa at The Greenway. The facilities say it all really with a hydrotherapy pool, fitness suite, sauna, steam room and sanarium, experience showers, an al fresco hot tub and a champagne nail bar.
Complementing the array of facilities is a veritable feast of spa treatments using the Mediterranean-inspired Temple Spa brand. They offer a collection of face and body therapies including massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and wraps – what more could you possibly want?
Set in eight acres of private gardens, the hotel resides in a 16th century Elizabethan manor house on the outskirts of Cheltenham – widely reputed to be one of the prettiest areas in the UK for its Regency fronted houses and rolling country views. The rooms are what you can only hope for when visiting a country house – in keeping with the style and tradition of the architecture, they are individually designed with a variety of different colours and textures that have the overriding effect of luxuriance.
The dining experience continues the effect of feeling like a member of the nobility – the rather spectacularly oak panelled Garden restaurant with its grand stone fireplace serves traditional British fare with views over the sunken garden and lily pond, and has been awarded two AA rosettes for its trouble, while the Orchard Brasserie is a more modern affair in the Elan Spa itself.
