As we launch our spa collection in Ireland this week, model, DJ, and spa reviewer, Vogue McFadden talks about Pilates, facials, lip balm, and curling up at home with husband, Brian, on those rare days off!

What are you up to at the moment?

At the moment I am heading back to Australia for work. I’m doing a lot of DJ-ing and some TV work when I get back.

What is your average day like?

My average day is usually quite busy. I spent a month touring with Brian and I found that quite hard as I don’t like not working. If I don’t have a modelling or DJ job I will always have emails, blogging and DJ work to catch up on. I try to fit the gym into at least four or five days a week too.

What’s your idea of the perfect day of relaxation?

My perfect day of relaxation would be to get a massage and facial and then spend the rest of the day tucked up in bed watching rubbish on TV, eating everything in the fridge!

Do you and Brian get to go on many spa days?

Brian and I don’t get away on many spa days, but when we are in a hotel with a good spa we will always try and fit in a massage.

Do you have a favourite spa treatment or one you would like to try?

My favourite spa treatment would probably be a facial, but if I’m in a rush I love having my nails done as they last a lot longer than doing them yourself!  I would also love to try a body wrap, they look amazing!

When are you at your happiest?

I am at my happiest when I am spending time with Brian at home.  We have to go out so much with work that when we do get time off we just stay in, I usually cook and we just chill, I love it!

How do you stay in shape?

I stay in shape by going to the gym.  I’m lazy about going but I do enjoy it. I go around four or five days a week, unfortunately my diet could do with a bit of work but I just love food and sweets too much. I also just took up Pilates which is brilliant, I highly recommend it.

What do you think is the key to feeling confident?

I don’t really think there is a key to feeling confident. Everyone is different, I feel most confident when I know I have been going to the gym and working hard, it makes me feel good about myself.

When do you feel at your most glamorous?

I feel at my most glamorous when I’m on my way out to an event; I have my hair and make-up done, and usually get to wear an amazing dress.

Is there a particular beauty product you can’t live without?

I can’t live without lip balm. I put it on every five minutes and always have about 20 in my bag.  My mom does the same, so I think I picked it up off her because I’ve been using it since I can remember!

Top tip for looking and feeling your best when you have a hectic schedule?

Whenever you have a hectic schedule I think the best thing you can do is make sure you get enough sleep. I can’t function on less than eight hours, so I make sure to always fit a good nights sleep into my schedule no matter how hectic it is.
