Using the Elemis products combined with traditional Chinese Tea Ceremonies, Y Spa at Wyboston Lakes talks about their new and exclusive Lifestyle Rasuls …
What exactly are the Lifestyle Rasuls?
The walls, floors, and seats are heated in our rasul, and for the first 10 minutes of the treatment the mud is baked onto the skin in dry heat at 45 degrees. There is then a steam for 15 minutes. We have created rasuls to tie into people’s lifestyles and to suit their individual needs. We have three different rasuls based around the Elemis spa at home range.
Soothe Me starts with an exfoliation using the new skin Nourishing Body Scrub from Elemis, which the client then showers off using the Nourishing Shower Cream. We then heat Japanese Camelia Oil and drizzle it onto the skin followed by a warmed Nourishing Skin Milk and leave the client to relax for 25 minutes. While in the rasul we apply Elemis quiet mind temple balm to distress the mind, and when the client comes out we apply warmed Skin Nourishing Body Lotion.
Awaken Me starts with a Double Mint Body Scrub, which is gel based, refreshing, and uplifting. Guests then shower with either Sharp Shower or Revitalise Me shower gel, and then we drizzle warmed Cellutox Active Body Concentrate oil onto the body to stimulating the lymphatic system and flush out toxins. Then we apply the Body Sculpting range of products including a serum and then the cream.
Balance Me starts with the Tranquil Touch body scrub followed by a shower with the Tranquil Touch shower cream. Then we drizzle warmed De-Stress Massage Oil, and warmed Skin Nourishing Milk Bath onto the skin which rebalances the protective layers of skin. This stays on in the rasul along with the Temple Balm, and then when clients come out of the rasul they have the Tranquil Touch body lotion applied.
Where do they come from?
All the Lifestyle Rasuls are based on Elemis products but the treatments are unique to Y Spa and were created in-house to fit into our lifestyle programmes.
What are they supposed to do?
Soothe Me is all about calming the spirit and skin, it’s great for anyone with eczema, psoriasis, or dry skin. Awaken Me is all about detoxifying the system, boosting energy, and firming the skin. Finally, Balance Me is about de-stressing the mind and balancing the body systems.
Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?
The treatments tie in with our Emeyu teas, which are the range we have in the spa and include black, white, green and fruit teas. Emeyu serve them traditionally, with Chinese tea ceremonies, just the way they should be served!
Soothe Me is combined with the Karma Lotus Tea, which calms the mind and quiets the senses. This soothing infusion offers a mix of carefully selected lavender, chamomile and chrysanthemum blossoms.
Awaken Me uses the Eight Butterflies Tea, a delicate green tea infusion with complex floral undertones. It combines the vibrant flavours of cranberries, rose petals and chrysanthemum with the classic green tea taste of Japanese Sencha and Genmaicha. It is named after the butterfly which is a Chinese symbol of young love.
Balance Me features the Pu-erh Chai Tea offering instant focus. Pu-erh Chai is a mesmerising blend of antioxidant-rich white, green and pu-erh teas, and warming spices. It can be enjoyed with or without milk.
Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?
The usual things; drink plenty of water, use the Spa At Home products to continue the benefits, and take time out to look after yourself … and come back!
Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?
It’s quite broad, but anyone with sluggish systems, challenging skins, and who is highly stressed will benefit.
Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?
Pregnant women should avoid it, and anyone with a serious illness it is best to consult their doctor first.
