Former spa therapist, Fiona Culley, is the rising star who’s determined to bring country music to the UK. Taking a break from the recording studio in Nashville, she explains why with Body Butter, a bottle of water, and a little time by the sea you really can’t go wrong!
What’s your average day like?
I like to get the gym out the way early in the morning otherwise it won’t happen then I am either writing or rehearsing for the next show or travelling to next show.. Right now I can be playing in Bournemouth one night and Birmingham the next so there is always a lot of driving involved.
You’re about to release your single, Country ‘Til Monday what is it about?
Country ‘Til Monday was written out in Nashville Tennessee by, Seth Costner, Brittany Mclamb and me. It’s about getting away for the weekend and kicking back in the countryside without technology getting in the way. For me I am at my happiest out in the country.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love being able to change someone’s mood with a song. If you can make someone tap there foot and smile then that’s made my day.
What were you doing before?
I trained as a beauty therapist and specialist in Massage Therapy.
Do you have a role model?
It’s got to be my Mum, she is so driven and such an inspiration! She has always told me to follow my dreams and supported me every step of the way.
What’s your idea of the perfect day of relaxation?
A day that involves water; the sea, a lake, or a pool and the sun … I could swim around all day getting lost in my thoughts and be perfectly relaxed!
Do you have a favourite spa treatment and why?
An Indian head massage is my all time favourite; it is the most powerful yet relaxing treatment! I love it.
What is your ‘desert island’ beauty product?
Body butter of any kind … I imagine this desert island would be extremely hot so I wouldn’t want to shrivel up like a prune.
Top Tip for feeling your best on a hectic schedule?
Water. I always have a two litre bottle of water in my handbag. It really is my medicine. You can fix most things with it.

I’m going to treat myself to a pair of shoes that I have been eyeing up for too long now and not feel guilty about it.
