It doesn’t matter how old you are, you still deserve a stocking to open on Christmas morning. So next to the clementines and chocolate coins, here are a few of our favourite things that just so happen to be conveniently Christmas stocking-sized …
Rituals Car Perfume: This has to be the most decadent car air freshener in the world, and is almost certainly something you wouldn’t buy for yourself unless it’s pay day, but the benefits of things that smell nice on your general wellbeing cannot be underestimated, and goodness knows that in the damp, wintery months when you are traipsing all kinds of wet clothing into the car, fresh smells that are not reminiscent of a bottle Dettol, will make everything better. Enter Rituals Car Perfume – yes, you heard us.
Luponde Tea: Taking a quintessential British pastime and giving it a bit of a twist, Luponde is the London based brand supplying tea from Tanzania, from the most picture perfect part of the city – a tiny bolthole on the Burlington Arcade, just moments from Bond Street. Beautifully packaged and tasting every inch as special as it looks, it is bound to come in use after you have overdone it on turkey and roast potatoes. Our favourite is the Lemon Verbena, which is also said to soothe nerves and ease coughs … so that’s nice.
MRL Travel Candle: Generally I have never understood the idea of the ‘Travel Candle’ – I have always wondered whether it is something that people ever actually travel with, or if it’s just easier to travel home from the shops with one of those rather than a giant boulder of a candle. Until, I came across the Marie Reynolds London Travel Candle, which doubles up as a massage oil, hair oil, or moisturiser when the wax melts and is particularly good for the winter months when skin is feeling unusually in need of some extra TLC, so I really would take it anywhere that I was travelling.
Mii Cosmetics Wide Eye Wonders: We would recommend the whole Beautiful Basics Gift Set, because it really is special, but that’s really more of an ‘under the tree’ present … it would be a bit of a stretch even for our generously sized stocking. THIS however, is perfect. Small and perfectly formed, the Wide Eye Wonders compact of four ultra-mineralised powder eye colours in a combination of matte and pearl shades comes in three colour options with an accompanying booklet for five different looks … hours of entertainment.
Chavin Caring Bracelets: They say that giving is better than receiving, but in this scenario, everyone gets something tangible out of the equation. Chavin Jewellery is the brand with a heart, and when you buy one of their impossibly sweet bracelets complete with an 18ct Rose Gold vermeil fastening and decorated with either a floral, heart, jaguar or tribal pattern, a donation is made to family-strengthening ‘Luz y Vida’ programme in Peru. The different coloured bracelets are also named after the mothers that Chavin supports through the programme adding that extra personal touch with the perfect amount of ‘warm and fuzzy feelings’ appropriate for the festive season.
