First Impressions: Driving into the grounds you are suddenly enveloped in this glorious parkland of tranquility and serenity. There is a long drive through acres of parkland which leads you to the hotel which is nestled in scenic peaceful grounds – it’s the perfect start to a spa weekend.
The Hotel: Modern and contemporary throughout, the whole hotel including the bedrooms has a real sense of opulence and celeb style treatment without the heavy price tag. The hub of the hotel is the funky cocktail bar that’s perfect for a pre dinner Martini. Hidden away is the unexpected outside terrace area with the oldest bonsai tree in the UK, ideal for chilling out in during the summer months. The hotel offers everything that is a seal for relaxation and pampering… they just leave you feeling like royalty when you leave.
The Spa: Continuing with the contemporary theme, the spa has everything you need including a pool, large Jacuzzi (fits 10 comfortably), sauna and steam rooms (with twinkly lights), experience showers and a relaxation room as well as lots of loungers scattered around the pool area. There is also the possibility of ordering food while you chill out by the water ensuring that you never have to lift a finger… or a toe.
The Restaurant: The key feature here is the new Marco Pierre White restaurant – a steakhouse with a twist serving high class food in a romantic setting. In the morning it is transformed to the breakfast room with everything and anything you could possibly want from a hearty breakfast. No danger of going hungry here then! For groups I highly recommend to hiring the Green House – yup, you heard me – it’s a green house and makes for a cute and quirky alternative for afternoon tea in the hotel grounds, especially in the summer. On the other hand, for a more intimate feel, Dukes Parlour that reiterates that VIP vibe for dinner and time to chill out with friends thanks to the additional presence of pool tables an iPod docking station, and a full bar service.
The Location: It’s hard to believe that this is just 20 minutes from London. Without a train or car in sight this peaceful location is best suited to those wanting to getaway from it all but without having to go too far. Richmond Park is just a few miles away and you are within easy reach of an evening out in the city should the mood strike.
The Verdict: Syon Park made me feel every inch the celebrity for the day. It’s ideal for romantic getaways and girly groups alike. A priceless experience that’s highly recommend this venue for special occasions!!
