You want to pick a foundation with a satin finish. Today I am using my favourite, Mac Mineralize foundation. I use this on most of my brides as it gives you a fresh glow that lasts all day.
Make-up Forever HD foundation is another good alternative, especially if you have a few blemishes on your skin which you need extra coverage for. If you have dry skin, the best alternatives are the NARS Sheer
Glow or the Neutrogena Healthy Skin, as they give a dewy finish while also providing great coverage.
Adding highlighter will add a soft fresh glow to the cheeks and give your face a more radiant appearance. I am using Burberry Fresh Glow. I love this product because it doesn’t have glitter in it yet adds a subtle glow to the skin. I apply to the top of my cheekbones and around the eye socket in a ‘C’ shape up on to my forehead.
For this look I am not going to use bronzer, just blusher. My skin is not dry so I can get away with using a powder blush for this look. I am applying MAC’s Peaches blusher to the apples of my cheeks using a large blusher brush, and then with any excess left on the brush I apply to the temple areas of my face to give a gentle glow and definition. If you have dry skin using powder blush can sometimes make your skin look dry and powdery. To give a more dewy finish to the cheeks using a cream blush is key! To apply any of the cream blushes, using clean fingers, pat the colour over the apples of the cheeks.
For this fresh look I am using MAC ‘Phloof!’ under the brow bone and over the lid. I then go over the lid with MAC ‘All that glitters’. Both of these eyeshadows have a gentle glow/sparkle in them which
is perfect for this look.
I am using Rimmel’s eyebrow pencil. This is one of my favourites, and is also very cheap to buy! The colour matches my eyebrows perfectly. The key for a brunette is to not go darker than your natural hair colour. Blondes can go darker than their hair colour but should keep it to a very light brown. Make sure your pencil is sharpened every time you use it so you can create a very clean line. Draw the shape of your bow very lightly, remember you want them to look full but also natural.
Add a light layer of your favourite mascara, for this look you don’t want your eyelashes too defined, as the whole look is very light.
For my lips I am going to use MAC’s Boldly Bare to line and fill my lips. This is my favourite lip liner colour as I can use it with almost all my natural or rose tinted lipsticks. For this look I simple fill my lips with the lines and then add some rose tinted Vaseline on top to give them a glossy fresh appearance.
