Returning to the Spabreaks.com team after maternity leave our Irish Spa Product Executive Ellen O’Connor discovers a new spa gem in the form of Roganstown Country Club. Here are her top five reasons to visit…

roganstown hero

The location

This family owned Georgian-style house dating back to 1820 is set in 300 acres of private parkland near the village of swords, North County Dublin and is only eight minutes from Dublin’s International Airport.

The ethos

The Sakura Spa (meaning cherry blossom in Japanese) believes that sensitivity and empathy define beauty, and embodies the spirit of Omotenashi – or as they put it, they welcome you with open hands, hearts and minds – which is a nice way to start the day, don’t you think?

The treatments

This is always the main draw card of any spa and it’s really lovely to note that all six spa therapists have been with the venue for a number of years (now THAT’S a good recommendation!). A favourite is the lime and Ginger Salt Glow followed by a Natural Crazy Angel Tint Tan which develops in two hours, perfectly timed for heading out!

The finishing touches

Aside from the spa treatments, they have some really lovely finishing touches including bridal make up, and mink lashes which last for two weeks. Resident hairdresser Julie is also queen of the vintage up-do, so get yourself booked in for special occasions!

The gardens

The gardens are lovely, so make sure you take a stroll around them whether you’re with a friend or a loved one. There’s also a golf course for any seasoned pros out there.
