It’s worth mentioning that this is one of my all time favorite books, and when the sequel comes out in September I will be shutting myself away from the world simply to read.
It’s the emotional and poignant story of Lou, who loses her job and takes another looking after a young man called Will. Will has been paralysed in a motorcycle accident just when it looked as though he had it all; the looks, the high flying career in London, then it all changed in an instant.
The story follows the two characters as they get to know each other (after a very shaky start I hasten to add) and of course their relationship develops into love. However, there’s a dark cloud that looms over them; he wants to end his life and she tries to convince him that his life is worth living.
I cried throughout this book, it’s not what you expect at all and it really makes you think. It’s heart rending but entirely worth reading.
