I have really, really, ridiculously long legs. I know what you’re thinking. “Boo hoo. Poor you. I’m playing the world’s smallest violin, here”… but the downside of giving a baby gazelles a run for their money in the limb stakes is that I also have a disproportionately short body. I have high-positioned hips, so I tend to go for a ‘short’ style bottom with a low-cut waist, in a size too big to avoid ‘muffin top’. It’s a handy way to elongate my torso, thus making it look like it actually belongs to the same body as my legs (bonus).
I like a bra-style bikini top with adjustable shoulder straps (there isn’t much space between my shoulders and boobs). At six foot tall with a 34H rack and multiple abdominal scars following major surgery, people are going to look at me anyway, so I’m not one to shy away from a bold print or design.
After all, our bodies are there to bring us joy and life’s too short to worry about cellulite. As my Self-Esteem Team colleague Nadz ( Nadia Mendoza) says, the only thing for you to worry about at the beach is where your next Piña Colada is coming from!
