The renovation has lead to the hotel being awarded its fourth star under its new owners, and the updated spa is only set to enhance that luxury experience.
The spa building is set within the 19th century manor house hotel grounds, which include 29 acres of parkland and six acres of formal gardens. Nonetheless, despite its ultra contemporary credentials, the style is sympathetic to the historic hotel, and there is a distinctly vintage vibe in the treatments and products.
Facilities include, but are not limited to, a hammam, a kidney shaped vitality pool with infinity edge looking into woodland gardens and a vitality section for up to eight people, making it perfect for groups. It also includes unique massage cages which are seats under the water that give a full massage experience.
There’s a Himalayan salt sauna with real Himalayan salt bricks backlit with blue light to compliment the colour scheme, blossom steam room with a rose essence for calming and a herbal sauna that uses herbs from the garden, while The Treehouse relaxation room gives the impression of being up amongst the treetops.
One of the things that really sets the location apart are the treatments. Opting for products that veer away from the mainstream and adhere to natural, organic and vegan friendly principles, the spa use Ytsara, Little Butterly London for prenatal treatments, Lola’s Apothecary and Salt of the Earth for manicures and pedicures, using salt from the Great Salt Lake in Utah.
Ideally designed for both groups, friends and couples, the spa has a range of experiences. For couples, there is the Luxury Private Suite where they offer the three hour Love Knot experience tailored to couples and including specially designed spa baths, a bijou sauna for two, two treatment beds and a relaxation bed as well as 110 minutes of therapy time. Meanwhile, hen parties can enjoy packages that include group make-up sessions for pre-wedding prep.
The spa even has its own Glasshouse Brasserie, a beautiful space offering both healthy food and indulgent treats, particularly for groups and hen parties who can design their own pizza toppings and choose to enjoy a cocktail making class after their time in the spa.
