The hotel has an illustrious history awash with kings and even Edward the Confessor. The manor house itself is rumoured to have been built for one of Oliver Cromwell’s illegitimate sons and certainly befits the status.
Rooms and suites are warm and welcoming, many with beams and a strong dedication to their historic style. It is all lavish furnishings, four poster beds and all the opulent details to make for a romantic weekend retreat.
The spa is a real asset to the hotel and the latest addition having only been built in 2018. It is elegant and contemporary – a purpose built destination complete with a swimming pool within a walled garden, a rich Vitality Pool operating at 34-36°C with air jets, water massage, neck massage canons and volcano pads, a sauna with garden views, a steam room, tepidarium, heated loungers, experience showers and a fully equipped gym. Treatments are from Elemis and Made for Life.
