A five star hotel set in spectacular relaxing but refined surroundings, Lough Erne Resort has 120 rooms and suites in six categories, starting with Traditional Rooms and Loughside Lodges, ranging up to Luxury Suites. All the rooms have a decadent sense of a true country house hotel, and they look out onto 600 acres of beautiful countryside.
The spa takes inspiration from Thailand and is laid out like a journey, taking you through the thermal facilities that include a crystal aroma steam room, a light therapy sauna and a tropical rain shower. Guests can rest in Sabai Sabai Room, meaning health and happiness (Light Relaxation area) and afterwards in the Lap Sabai Room, meaning deep sleep (Deep Relaxation area). There is also a gym, infinity pool and a Jacuzzi. Making it a welcoming group destination, the spa also has 10 treatment rooms where therapists use Elemis and ESPA products, as well as a dual suite and a traditional Thai massage room complete with a specialist Thai massage couch.
The Catalina Restaurant, awarded three AA Rosettes for its modern Irish cuisine, to cocktails and a delectable grazing menu in The Blaney Bar. For a more casual experience, there is also The Loughside Bar and Grill, which specialises in prime Irish meats and seafood from the grill. Don’t forget to try the afternoon tea, the home made pastries, loose leaf tea and Champagne make for a decadent combination, especially on a really classy hen party post spa treatment!
Surrounded by the hotel’s own 36-hole golf experience, as we have already said, one of the really unique aspects of Lough Erne Resort is its location. Lough Erne is the name of two connected lakes in County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. It is the second-biggest lake system in Northern Ireland, placing the hotel on a peninsular that gives the impression of being on a private island. Acres and acres of the Fermanagh Lakelands greet you as you wake up in the morning, adding to the sense of escapism. If peace, quiet and a touch of luxury is your thing, this is the place to be.
The location and the standards of this hotel really are exemplary and on the face of it, we would definitely describe this as a romantic hotel that’s ideal for a luxurious escape with your other half, especially for overnight breaks. That said, the number of treatment rooms in the spa, the lodge accommodation that’s available, and the sense of space that the hotel offers also makes it perfect for group visits, celebrations and refined hen parties whether on a day spa visit or staying overnight. Ultimately, whatever the reason you choose to visit, you’re promised a beautiful time.
