We all know that planning a wedding can be stressful, but research by Barclays confirmed it, so what can you do to help alleviate stress leading up to the big day? Well, wedding experts Hitched suggest tactics including a digital detox, spending time with your support network, getting fresh air, delegating and (we like this one best), being kind to yourself as top tips.
All of this is sage advice, and our personal belief about wellbeing is that a little and often does you a lot of good. Bringing almost all of these elements together however is a little spa time. Spent with friends, on your own with a good book, or with your partner as a little oasis of calm amidst the chaos, a little spa time can go a long way to reminding your other half that you love them – despite wedding dramas.
The best part about it, because we don’t want to add to that wedding budget deficit, is that it doesn’t have to be an expensive or lengthy exercise either; it’s all about quality time.
It’s not about how much it costs, but the quality of the experience that counts. Dedicating time to one another, and your own wellbeing, doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Take Bryn Meadows’ Bed and Breakfast overnight break for example.
The peaceful escape in Wales is known for its high quality experiences, and for £55 per person you can enjoy one night’s bed and breakfast with robe, towel and slippers provided, full use of the spa facilities and 10% off pre-booked treatments.
For those who are pressed for time but want to make it count, an twilight spa evening can work wonders.
You can even treat yourself mid week to take the edge off working madness. For example, Bannatyne Charlton House in Somerset has a charming Evening Escape including arrival at 5pm, a 25-minute treatment and full use of the spa facilities from £34.50 each!
Then again, nothing beats real luxury to really make you feel loved up, and at Thurlestone Hotel in Devon you get all the decadence of a luxury hotel and spa alongside breathtaking views of the sea.
A stone’s throw from the beach, the brand new spa offers a charming Spa Delight spa day, which includes a 25 minute treatment, afternoon tea (definitely worth the trip in itself), use of a robe, towel and slippers and use of the facilities between 1pm – 6pm.
