Wooden beams, Cotswold stone and plants connect the two, while facilities include a heated outdoor hydrotherapy pool, a steam room, sauna, relaxation room and five treatment rooms.
Spa treatments are brought to you by Elemis, with an emphasis on luxury and pampering, they offer everything from aromatherapy to facials and full body massages. A luxury hotel spa in the Cotswolds, Barnsley House near Cirencester fuses contemporary wellbeing and hospitality with old world elegance and countryside views. Surrounded by acres of landscaped gardens, the hotel is an 18-bedroom manor house where you can choose from luxurious two-storey suites to a secret garden retreat with an open fire. The style inside is light, airy and elegant but with the sophistication of a historic property. The goal of the whole place is to do nothing but relax, whether you’re spending your time in the spa, having a picnic in the gardens, borrowing bicycles or settling in to watch a movie in the private cinema.
Dining at Barnsley House is in a tranquil hideaway where all the design has relaxation in mind. Stylish, but understated, The Potager restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner, serving seasonal dishes with many ingredients grown in the hotel gardens. Dinner is available 7-9.30pm Monday to Thursday, 7-10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 7-9pm on Sundays. No young children (under 14) are allowed in the dining areas during breakfast and dinner to give guests who are trying to relax that extra opportunity for peace and quiet. That said, The Village Pub welcomes children of all ages at all times and is just over the road from the main house. A traditional pub, it offers a warm welcome and superb pub classics with a modern twist.
