Barton Manor Hotel & Spa was built in 1900 and started out as a private manor house. Purchased in 1925 by Levi Collinson, it remained a family home until it was requisitioned by the War Office in 1940, and was then purchased by Edward and Ada Topping in 1950, becoming a B&B. Over the decades it evolved in popularity and scope to become a hotel.
