Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa is owned by the Harland and Poston Group, a Lisbon-based international property company, who bought it in 2025. The Harland and Poston Group is co-owned by David Poston and Gary Harland.
Located in Formby, the hotel is five miles south of Southport, 14 miles north of Liverpool, and 44 miles from Manchester by car, and there's plenty of free parking on site. If you're taking the train, Freshfeilds Railway Station is 2.1 miles away, and Formby Station is 2.5 miles away. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is the closest for those who are flying.

Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa's history is rooted in the original Formby Hall, which was built in 1523 for the Formby family. The golf resort opened in 1996, designed by Alex Higgins and hosting events on the European Challenge Tour, European Seniors Tour, and PGA EuroPro Tour in the early noughties. The hotel was added in 2008 following a significant expansion project.
