Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa's history is rooted in the original Formby Hall, which was built in 1523 for the Formby family. The golf resort opened in 1996, designed by Alex Higgins and hosting events on the European Challenge Tour, European Seniors Tour, and PGA EuroPro Tour in the early noughties.
