The Shambala Wellness and Spa at Hever Hotel brings a touch of Ayurveda to Kent. Channelling the sages of India, holistic healing combined with plenty of indulgence is the name of the game here. The spa is built on the pillars of Vata (Wind), Pitta (Fire), and Kapha (Earth). Through yoga, meditation, diet and Ayurvedic treatments. It is a cocoon and a destination in its own right, complete with a sauna, steam room, plunge pool, relaxation room and salt room.
The treatments and experiences at the spa however, are very much what sets it apart. Using the Lakshmi Organic Skin Care product line, which combines Ayurveda, aromatherapy, organic plant extracts and pure essential oils, they offer a wide range of face and body treatments, ranging from classic massages to unique therapies such as a Pinda (hot rice bundle massage). They also provide a collection of beauty treatments, and a daily programme of Ayurvedic cookery classes, yoga, meditation and pilates classes.
A few minutes’ walk from Hever Castle, famed as the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Hever Hotel is a gem amidst the Kent countryside. The Tudor style buildings that make up the hotel, are offset by contemporary interiors that bring a freshness to the experience. Stay in Classic, Executive or Four Poster Rooms and enjoy views overlooking the hotel grounds or picturesque courtyards. There’s also a self contained Woodland Cottage that you can stay in, complete with three double bedrooms, living space and its own kitchen - perfect for groups of friends or a family to stay in.
Dining at Hever Hotel combines rustic style and a warm welcome with elegant menus. The main restaurant is Stables Restaurant, which boasts its own organic garden producing high quality fruit and vegetables and also has an alfresco area for summer months. There are also three bar lounges including The Sterling downstairs, a piano bar and a games room. Here, they serve local and British products in a relaxed environment. For example, the beers come from just 10 minutes away. The hotel also serves a delectable afternoon tea and has private dining options which are ideal for special occasions.
