Nutfield Priory is a historic property that was originally built between 1849 and 1854 by owner Thomas Fowler Wood. It was then added to in 1855-59 for the Quaker banker Henry Edward Gurney. Having been home to various owners across the years and has also been a school. In 1988 it became a country house hotel and is now under the ownership of Hand Picked Hotels.
