- The Summer Edit
As if the breathtaking surroundings of rural Scotland were not enough of a relaxation factor, the spa and leisure facilities at Marine Troon also include a gym, dance studio hosting a number of exercise classes; a pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and solarium.
Completing the package, the spa is a devotee of organic, vegan, seaweed-derived, Ishga skincare products, made locally in the Outer Hebrides. They also use Made For Life Organics, hand blended in Cornwall.
Dating back to 1894, the hotel is named for its position on the West Coast of Scotland and accordingly features dramatic views and status as a prime location from which to explore Ayrshire, amongst its draw cards. With 89 bedrooms, the purpose-built venue has boasted four stars since 1912 and is the only hotel in Scotland to have retained the rank throughout its history.
The Rabbit restaurant and The Seal bar, which unsurprisingly given the name overlooks the 18th hole of the Royal Troon golf course. Afternoon teas complete with champagne are also available.
