Very lovely spa, really friendly staff. Really clean and amazing pruducts which were also available in the showers! The only negatives were my particular therapist was really light on the massage on by back, legs and feet and i feel like it was a wasted treatment. She was extremely nice, but young so could have been due to maybe lack of experience. I am a Therapist so can be critical.
Spa area lovely but just not enough seating, we stayed in the pool/jacuzzi for 1.5hr and no where to sit. It would have been nice to sit at side of pool.
Myself and my husband enjoyed our spa treatments by Molly and Rachel. We have been to this spa 3 times and this was by far the best treatments received. Thank you ladies 👍🏻👌
Overall great weekend once we moved rooms. Food excellent hotel staff very helpful. Spa reception not as good as the rest but the spa treatments staff were excellent.
The spa is looking a little shabby and needs an update which I believe is planned soon.
The staff was excellent especially the two therapist I had Sophie and Joanna and. Mat was very helpful too
I had two very relaxing treatments as part of my spa break package. The pool and other facilities are lovely too. It was quite busy with other spa break guests which made the pool area and Jacuzzi a little crowded but overall, a fab day.
Had lovely maSsages over the 2 days and felt much better. Our lunch which was part of the Spa experience was very good and plentiful in choice and quantity.
Everything ran very efficiently from booking the spa day to how we were treat at tankersley manor. Reception staff and therapists were lovely and very professional and friendly. The lunch was lovely 10 out of 10 to everyone involved.
This is an annual visit to Tankersley. Overall the visit was lovely, however the hotel is badly in need of updating. The room was shabby and the beds were uncomfortable. The spa was excellent as usual. I did see a display which indicated that the hotel was to be re-furbished, so I will be booking again next year.
We booked a last minute spa day through spa breaks at Tankersley Manor, the booking process was straightforward. We booked the autumn gold treatment which was really relaxing and enjoyable, we had a really chilled enjoyable day which wasn't too far from home. The package included coffee and a Danish pastry, we decided to have lunch which was extra, the lunchtime menu was a little expensive but really nice food.
The SPA treatments are first class I had a full body salt scrub and hot stone massage.
The staff in the SPA are very professional and friendly and treatments are done in a timely fashion.
The spa was alright, its raady for an update which I've read is happening soon but the staff are lovely and very good at their jobs. Treatments are amazing
Overall, a lovely place to go. Tankersley Manor as a whole is gorgeous both inside and out. The spa was nice enough, however, I wasn't blown away by the interior décor of the spa, especially compared to interior of the resturant/hotel section. That being said, the spa treatments were fantastic, the massage therapists were very good and the food was lovely. Would recommend.
Wonderful entrance which smells divine! All the staff were very helpful and friendly, faultless customer service. Pool was the perfect temperature, hot tub was wonderfully warm. Sauna and steam room all very functional. The therapist and treatment was excellent. The package was excellent value for money.
could do with more gathering space to lounge and sit and outside space that is not for smokers, maybe pool and jaccuzi outside, staff were lovely and on the whole most of us had great experience although one of our party didnt and they have given her a free treatment vist so all good ,we would definatly go again.
The Spa treatments were excellent. I had a facial and it was brilliant. I had my feet scrubbed (dead skin removed) as I don't like them being massaged and the guys were helpful and they feel amazing now. The beautician was lovely! There is a GYM which has lots of equipment. We went in there for half hour followed by jacuzzi and swim. The pool was surprisingly cool! There are sun lounges to lounge about on after which is nice. All the staff in the Spa are very helpful and lovely. I would definitely re-vist here again!
Loved the spa, we didn't eat anything so couldn't comment on that, but the treatments are the best I've ever had, and all the staff were so helpful and welcoming, fantastic!
We were a group of six and enjoyed having the time together to use the pool, steam room and sauna.
We enjoyed our lunch and were conveniently able to alter the time when we realised we'd booked it too early.
We did have a morning coffee/tea and the only downside was having to cross to the brasserie in our robes to have this, but it didn't have a notable difference to our session together.
We didn't chose to have additional treatments.
All the staff were friendly and personable.
The facilities were clean and tidy, though possibly ready for an update.
I do wonder about the use of single use plastic cups and packaging with the slippers - increasingly people are aware of these recycling/ environmental issues.
It was a great way to have quality time together. Thank you.
I went with my daughter and she really enjoyed her treatment. I had a leg and foot massage with gel on my toes but unfortunately one peeled off that night and also cut short to 40 minutes for some reason.
The spa was stunning and had amazing facilities and products. Our treatment times were messed up so we couldn't all have them together but this didn't take away from the incredible experience and all round brilliant day.
Myself and my Daughter really had a fabulous relaxing spa , treatments were excellent, the staff very attentive and explained everything in detail what they were going to do, and were very pleasant and well mannered, would definitely recommend.
Lovely spa spoilt by being told that we were not allowed to consume a glass of presecco while chilling in the lounge area due to health and safety. I would have understood this had we been in the pool area. Overall slightly disappointed ☹️
My friend and I had two treatments each and we were both very satisfied with them. This spa package is excellent value for money, went last year, dine it this year and will do it again next year.
An excellent spa. All of the staff were very friendly and the treatments were great. I upgraded to a full body massage.... definitely recommended. The facial was fab too. I will definitely return again.
Think the spa area is a little small and limited to sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and small pool. Changing room is a little dated now, having been over the last 6 years. That aside, the treatment areas are really calming and the staff are especially friendly and experienced. I had the fit for business back treatment and loved my experience. Joanna knew exactly what oils I needed just from telling her about my working week.
Looking forward to booking again!
The therapist was very pleasant and the atmosphere was very nice in the treatment rooms. The description of treatments was a little unclear. I thought l was having a pedicure, but ended up having a file and polish. Not the fault of the therapist. We were asked before we went which treatments we wanted, then we were asked again when we arrived, so maybe something was lost in the translation??
The spa facilities were OK but busy. On our final morning, we thought we could stay for a whole morning but were told we could only use the spa until 11am, checkout time. This gave us 45mins, on this day the sauna hadn't been switched on, the staff were too busy to attend straight away, by the time it was done our time was up so we didn't get our sauna. So it felt like we'd been a bit short changed. But as l said before, it was a deal so in a way we got what we paid for. Probably wouldn't go there again.
I was disappointed when asking the prices of the products, i was shown a product which the girl was using and she said £30 so i decided to get one only to find that the large jar that she showed me was not what you got. It was a small tube of it instead. I did feel done, for £30 i thought i would have been told it want that size jar that you got.
From my first communication with Matt at spabreaks to walking back out from Tankersley Manor everything was first class. The spa is not massive but it was perfect for myself and daughter felt so relaxed as soon as we got there. Lunch was real value for money and more than what I would call a ‘light’ lunch. I had the back and face massage for my treatments it was lovely felt so relaxed when it was finished. Overall we had a fantastic day celebrating my daughter’s 40th birthday would definitely go again thank you
The treatments were of a high standard as were the therapists and could not be faulted.
The only downside was that there was no relaxation room and nowhere to have a cup of tea/coffee in the spa area. This may be a deliberate choice on behalf of the management to move customers away from the spa area but it would have been better to be able to relax and have a drink straight aftthe treatment.
Although this is no longer a Q hotel we were looked after well by friendly hard working staff. We moved rooms due to needing a bath rather than shower however our room was above the main reception area and was very noisey. Apart from this everything else was amazing we would definitely stay again.
Spent a lovely 2 night spa break here. Wonderful hotel and very pleasant and helpful staff. Room was just right and comfortable. All in all just what my sister and I needed.
Wasn’t given room on arrival that we were promised by spa breaks. Had us down as lowest quality room not what was agreed. Hotel were good and upgraded up anyway. This was my main query before booking so annoyed spa breaks let me down.
We have stayed Tankersley Manor many times before but this was the first time since new ownership. Everything was just as good as always and we enjoyed our visit. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly just as before.
The jacuzzi was not working but we had a phone call before hand to inform us and an offer to change our dates but we decided against this
We had a fantastic stay! The hotel and facilities were great! The staff couldn’t be any more helpful!
We’re already looking at booking another spa break there!
Beds too hard, so had very little sleep. The hotel is not very disabled friedly, as there are steps everywhere, and 2 of our party have mobility issues. We booked 4 rooms at the same time, but we were placed over 2 different floors, making it difficult for the whole group. At dinner, one of our party didn't get her starter at the same time as the rest of us, hers had been given to a different table we were told. By the time she received her starter, the rest of the group had finished theirs. One of the guests was given a dirty tea cup, which had to be changed. One room had a dirty sock left in it from the previous guests, and there were lipstick marks on one of the bathroom glasses in that same room. We washed it ourselves before we used it! One of the party didn't get the full treatment booked. Instead of head neck and shoulder massage, she was told by the therapist that she could choose to have neck or head done. In the spa changing rooms, 1 of the showers was broken, with the shower head coming away in my hand! Some of the lockers had the coin tray missing, which meant that on opening the licker door, the £1 coin dropped out onto the floor unexpectedly. As a disabled person, one of the group struggled to retrieve it, and a stranger came to her aid.
Had it just been 1 or 2 small things, they could have been overlooked, but all these things put together made our stay less than satisfactory. We wont be returning to Tankersley Manor.
We had a lovely twin room with two double beds and a newly fitted en-suite shower room. The room was nice and spacious. We were on a spa break package so this is really good value for money with lunch, treatments and evening meal also included in the price.
Only one complaint the shower head was covered in black mould which was not noticed until I was in the shower .
This causes legionnaires disease .
I think your cleaning staff should be doing courses in this area .
Our room was spacious and the beds were really confirtable. It was well equipped with iron, hairdryer, trouser press, ironing board, tv and a settee to sit with your drinks made in the bedroom, they even provided a safe.
We were a bit disappointed as we were promised a bottle of pink fizz in our rooms as it was a special.birthday that did not happen and one of the spa members in the hotel.was aggressive and rude to.our party we reported this but nothing got done about it .
This my second stay at this beautiful hotel. Although the building is in the process of being renovated, staff remain helpful and very friendly.
Breakfast is included as well as an evening meal in the price.
Spa breaks booked everything for me so once I arrived at the hotel it was easy and everything went smoothly. I had booked 2 rooms and unfortunately one of the rooms was not ready for an hr after check in whilst I walked past there a few times and it was still being cleaned but I didn't make a big deal and went to the spa which made me forget about that and once I got out of there I got my room. The best part is the staff are lovely and helpful and the food is fantastic.
Lovely location and easy to find. The hotel was nice and the room very comfortable with all the extras you'd need, iron, trouser press, hairdryer. The bathroom in the room wasn't great but we understand they are upgrading certain areas. A bath would've been nice but obviously not essential. The menu was varied and the food was lovely
Accommodation a little dated and rooms are small even if you upgrade.
Food spa and staff are all good it was my partner's birthday and she was offered nothing I found that poor as they mentioned it several times
The hotel and grounds are lovely with ample car parking. We'd booked twin rooms and therefore were surprised to find we had double rooms. The room was clean but very warm but luckily we found a fan in the wardrobe which helped. No fridge in the room but everything else one needs for a comfortable break.
Lovely hotel and rooms , had a lovely upgrade for free which was great only problem was that then seperated our party and although our suite was lovely and quiet one of our partry didnt sleep well due to some wedding guests
The room was fine but the beds were not comfortable, behind the bathroom door was dust and dirt, the food was not the quality I would have expected, very over priced so we’re the drinks too much gin and did not have port ??,the bar staff and reception were not the most professional.
The staff are lovely and do their best to make your stay a pleasant as possible.
The SPA treatments are first class, it was also good value for money.
I am already making plans to return 😊
Staff were all friendly. Beds were very comfortable and spacious. Tea, Coffee and hair dryer in the room with mini fridge was a plus. Food was excellent. If we had got wine/drinks included in our meal it would have been 5 star. When we got to our room we were a bed missing and had to ring up and wait. We were told we'd get a call back but didn't. No problem as when we rang half hour later they said a bed had been placed in the other room. Spa was lovely! Treatments were brilliant. I would go again!
Really enjoyed our stay, but I had to have 2 toppers on my mattress, and sleep on top of the quilt as the mattress was so uncomfortable. I could feel spring digging in all over me, and the pillows were so hard it hurt my face! But other than that it was fab
The rooms are a bit dated but still very comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Especially receptionist tia who sorted the mixed up room bookings out
The grounds and hotel were beautiful and the staff performed to an exceptional standard. A fabulous place which I will definitely go back to in the future. They were so accommodating and were 100% understanding with my severe allergies and the importance of cross contamination.
Had a really wonderful time at Tankersley Manor, staff very helpful, plenty of food choice at Lunch which was buffet style, and Evening Meal was excellent,
We have stayed a couple of times and always been suitably impressed. However on this occasion we were told we couldn’t check in as the systems were down. We were asked to wait in the bar area. It took half an hour for the system to become available. A complimentary drink would have been a good gesture. I was also asked to pay a bar bill when checking out but had not had anything charged to the room. I was then contacted to ask to pay the bill even though we had not charged anything.
The room was spotless clean with everything needed for an overnight stay. The staff were brilliant, friendly and professional, meals were excellent with fantastic choice of dishes with huge portions. The buffet breakfast was all fresh.
Lovely room. Wide range of food especially if you are following slimming world food optimising. Something for everyone.Mohammed in the pennine bar was extremely helpful and very pleasant. All round lovely experience.
A fantastic weekend break. All of the staff were very warm and welcoming. The food on the restaurant was excellent. I will definitely return again in the future.
Beautiful location, lovely, friendly staff. Room was cosy and comfortable beds with good power shower and toiletries provided. Tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer in room too.
Drinks expensive but expected, good quality food and service there.
Been 4 times now since 2013 and will definitely return.
The staff were pleasant on our arrival but unfortunately we were booked into a double room instead of a twin. This meant we had n extra wait and then a rush to get to our treatments at 2pm. (Should have asked for later treatments).
The meals were ok but we had long waits to be served.
No frills in the restaurant for the evening meal, but very expensive wine choices...cheapest at £23 a bottle of red. £7 for a very small dessert etc.
The staff were very nice and as helpful as they could be.
If we had paid the full price for our break l would have been much more disappointed, as it was a deal l suppose it is to be expected. You get what you pay for.
Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff.
Drinks very expensive at £20.00 for a gin and tonic and glass of wine. But apart from that the offer was amazing.
The bed we stayed in wasn’t comfy in the slightest, we didn’t sleep well and were aching in the morning. We were awoken at 06:45 by what we assume to be the pool aircon which was right outside our room window.
During waiting for our table in the evening, staff were squabbling behind the bar which included swearing. Most staff were pleasant and helpful, but there were one or two who were rude and too busy arguing with each other to care about customer service. There was a list of about 6 or 7 cocktails braisenly displayed on the board by the side of the bar. My partner and I chose the same cocktail which took 3 members of the team to construct as neither one knew how to do it. They took a good five minutes to make each one, separately!
Breakfast was lovely and the staff there were friendly and helpful.
Overall I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
Check in was quick and professional, room was exceptionally clean and comfortable lunch was served in relays meaning we didn’t all eat at the same time, delays serving tea/coffee, my coffee was served 10 minutes after everyone else’s.
Evening meal was delicious all served together however cocktails included in our package were selected for us with just a choice of 3 available.
