Rookery Hall was built in 1816 and was originally known as The Rookery, Worleston. It was the home of William Hilton Cooke who was a wealthy landowner, owning over 500 acres in this area. The property passed to different owners over the years, and was periodically updated. It remained a private house until its purchase in 1979 by Harry and Jean Norton, renowned hoteliers who began its transformation into the hotel it is today.
