Around the pool there are a number of cabanas, each with two loungers and curtains that you can draw round for greater privacy. Fresh fruit and water are readily available, all leaving you in the optimum mood to enjoy one of their selection of spa treatments. In the seaside town of Salcombe, best known for its beautiful scenery, superb ice cream and sailing, the Salcombe Harbour Hotel sits pride of place, nestled into the cliffs looking out to sea. Perfectly located for enjoying the town, the nearby beaches and for simply taking in the views, the award-winning hotel underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment in recent years, which secured its position as one of the leading destinations in south Devon. Guests stay in impeccably stylish rooms and suites where luxury linens and modern style meet coastal chic. You start the day enjoying the sea air from your private balcony, and you can finish it nursing a glass of gin or sherry (provided in each room) and watching the sun set over the estuary.
The hotel’s restaurant, The Jetty, is at the centre of the whole hotel experience. With floor to ceiling windows maximising the natural light, you are in prime position to watch the boats bob by over breakfast, lunch, dinner and all the bits in between. South Devon is famed for its local seafood in particular, so it is fitting that alongside many other beautiful dishes, crab, mussels, lobster and local fish sit pride of place on the menu. Also in the local larder is the exceptional local clotted cream to go with afternoon teas and Salcombe’s very own gin from the distillery around the corner.
