Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday 22nd February, we’re delighted to confirm that spas in England are due to reopen from 12th April 2021.
The Government’s four step plan currently indicates that spa days will resume from this date, with spa breaks resuming from 17th May.
Once spas have reopened certain facilities may require pre-booked slots or remain closed. Saunas and steam rooms are due to remain closed until 17th May at the earliest. We advise checking package details carefully at time of booking.

Staff were amazing and friendly, although a bit more information regarding if you’d like breakfast or a drink etc when coming for a morning spa would be helpful. Unfortunately the spa area itself could do with updating there were no loungers to relax on due to the public being able to use the swimming pool, jacuzzi etc. The Bottom bench in the sauna is broken so when you step off the top bench you nearly fall in the hot coals. Around the jacuzzi the tiles were dirty with orange in the grout and the other small pool there was green algy in the white drain parts. Treatments were amazing staff were amazing just the cleaning of the area could be a lot better with a area to relax would be good too.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money for the treatments and very professional service. Spa facilities are a little dated but very clean and tidy. Treatment rooms are modern.
This spa experience was amazing and such a good value for money. This was for my husbands 30th birthday, it was very relaxing with access to a hot tub, pool, sauna and steamer. Lovely clean changing and shower facilities. I felt very relaxed after !
Spa therapists were friendly and professional, I had a facial which was lovely and my skin felt good afterwards. My friend had a back massage which she also enjoyed.
Good value for money, we had a lovely stay. My partner really enjoyed his massage however mine was disappointing, we did not get the same experience.(He had his feet massaged, an eye pillow, his feet covered, questions before hand asking how he liked the pressure etc which I didn’t get) Overall we had a good time & the staff were lovely, however my treatment felt half hearted
The treatment was ok although I’ve had better. The most disappointing was the spa facilities. They need a complete refurb. The spa bath wasn’t working. I was informed that it’s on a timer for every 15 mins after waiting half hour I gave up. The whole place looks tired and run down. We were told we could sit out on the patio next to the swimming pool but there were no tables or chairs set up and the whole patio was dirty and full of leaves and dirt, it needed a good sweep up. The pool was freezing. Not at all heated. The changing rooms were very small with no privacy. Although I was informed that the changing rooms next to the pool were being decorated and therefore they were closed. All in all very disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend it. Boringdon spa down the road is by far superior even if it is more expensive.
Unfortunately there was work going on at the spa. I was notified the day before but this was too short notice. There was banging and drilling going on during my massage. There was a continual stream of men and building materials being carried past as I waited outside the treatment area. This was my 60th birthday treat. I was given a voucher as compensation but this was for the swimming pool. I booked mainly for the treatment. Very disappointed
We had Hot Stone massages, which we both really enjoy.
The first therapist was excellent, and offered a choice of depth of massage - my friend chose medium. (Which was great)
I was not offered a choice by my therapist, which was a bit disappointing, as it was too soft for my preference.
But she was a lovely young lady, and maybe I should have spoken up at the time. But I didn't realise that my friend had been offered the option.
I still enjoyed the experience - but it could have been enhanced.
The room, products and overall Spa are excellent though.
And I would definitely book again. (And speak up prior to the treatment, to get the pressure of massage that I prefer) My own fault really.
We didn't have any treatments this time but used the facilities. The spa was lovely to use, very clean the only issue I had was getting in and out of the jacuzzi. This was was simply down to my health issue but what would of helped and made it easier was if there was an extra step into the jacuzzi could so you don't have to step down so low and my friend also had to help me out.
There was an older lady that had the same problem, if other people don't say the hotel won't know this is an issue.
Please don't let this put you off as it is well worth a visit.
Thankyou for our stay.
Beautiful hotel, all very clean and comfortable, great view of the golf course from the room. The food in the restaurant was delicious, very happy with the service too.
Beautiful place set in fantastic grounds. Very relaxing. Had a great massage only small issue is rooms are in a corridor from pool and even with quiet zone signs up people are still talking and doors going.
Bar large and very nice just pool table not working.
Overall would definitely return.
Beautiful place but sadly a lot of silly things wrong/niggles/human errors......
All mentioned to hotel prior to leaving and already on another review site....
1: robes and slippers missing from room, as requested by spa to hotel
2: salmon noodle starter cold, not described cold on menu and not given option of heating or changecwgen queried
3: chocolate Guinness cake could not taste any Guinness. Unesscary addition.
4: 6:50am wake up call by leaf blower outside for half an hour and thoughtless golfers turning up being loud in car park outside our room! Not the relaxing lie in we were hoping for!
5: breakfast: not asked how wanted eggs as described on menu and the smoked salmon on scrambled eggs just slopped on plate next to it, very dull boring looking plate, no greenery or herb to jazz it up.
6: wife's massage very disappointing. Frosty, therapist, not talking or asking any questions regarding massage like husbands therapist did, and very little effort put into actual massage, was not relaxing at all.
Have explained we would love to come back when hopefully all these things are ironed out!
From the minute my friend and I walked into reception we were both impressed with how beautiful the hotel was. We were greated by a very friendly lady at reception. The Lady offered to carry our bags to our room, gave us all the information about the hotel of where to eat, drink and where the spa was. Also what number to ring from our room if we needed anything.
The room was perfect size and spotlessly clean. We went to the bar for a drink and lunch, the prices were really good and couldn't believe the amount of food on our plates. Extremely good portions for your money. It was beautiful sat in peace and tranquilty in the sun. Once again the staff were so friendly. Our evening meal was delicious and once again the evening staff were very welcoming. We also stayed the following day for lunch.
Neither one of us can fault anything at all, we had an amazing stay and would love to come back again.
