The St Mellion Estate is owned by Crown Golf. The Bond brothers initially developed the golf course in 1972, and was later sold to American Golf in 1998. It was then purchased by Crown Golf in 2004.

The St. Mellion Estate began as a golf course in 1976, with a hotel added in 1998. When new owners took it on in 2004 they invested in building a brand new four-star hotel, adding bars, restaurants, meeting and spa facilities as well as redeveloping both golf courses.
