The Swinton Estate has been in the ownership of the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880's, when Samuel Cunliffe-Lister bought the estate on retiring from his mill in Bradford, Manningham Mills.

When was the Swinton Estate built?

Construction on Swinton Park was started in 1695 by Sir Abstrupus Danby, and was added to by his successors during the 1760s. The family converted the property into a hotel in 2001.
