Carden Park Hotel first opened as a hotel in 1997, however the estate's history dates to the early 17th century, when the land was acquired by the Leche Family who built an elegant hall and the grounds of the park landscaped and stocked with deer. The Hall was ransacked by Cromwell’s troops but survived until it burnt down in a fire in 1912, although much of the features were reprised in the rebuilt Resort which you see today. The three-acre vineyard was reinstated by the Estates team in 2008, now producing up to 6,000 bottles of Carden Estate Reserve sparkling wine. A full bunker refurbishment project was completed on the Cheshire golf course in 2014, reopening in April with a £100,000 investment. On 1st September 2014 Carden Park Hotel became an independent hotel.

What makes it Elysium standard?
- A brand new adult only spa within the hotel grounds
- A partnership with Bollinger to create a beautiful Champagne bar in the spa
- Facilities and treatments that take inspiration from the elements
- Signature spa treatments using herbs and grape juice harvested from their own grounds
Carden Park has always been home to a beautifully kept health club, which hotel guests and their families have access to whenever they stay, complete with a gym, fitness classes, a pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, bucket shower and sun shower. However, in 2019 they raised the game of the spa industry in the UK by adding a dedicated, standalone spa within the hotel grounds as well. An entirely separate, adult-only experience, the new spa fuses luxury and holistic wellbeing with the latest in contemporary design and facilities, brought together in a manner that’s sympathetic to its natural surroundings and taking inspiration from the elements.
A two-storey building with a wide range of pools and thermal facilities, it is accompanied by a 2,500 square metre spa garden. Wanting guests to experience both the indoors and outdoors all year round, the spa has panoramic views of the grounds throughout, but the team have also worked thoughtfully to make sure that the garden facilities are usable, whatever the weather. A partnership with Bollinger has ensured the presence of a beautiful Champagne bar, alongside indoor and outdoor thermal facilities. A spa restaurant means that the day spa is somewhere you can visit in its own right, separate to the hotel, as well as being somewhere you can spend the whole day.
Treatments have also been considered right from the design stage of the spa. Working hand-in-hand with Germaine De Capuccini, Oskia, and Made for Life Organics, they offer a collection of therapies that are both holistic and results-driven. Incorporating the location with the spa experience, as the hotel has its own vineyard on site, the team are harvesting grape juice to mix with their clay masks for an entirely unique experience connected to the environment. Therapists at Carden Park are also trained to offer safe spa treatments for guests living with cancer, using the Jennifer Young product line. It’s a natural, effective specialist skincare and body care range, that’s been created for those living with and beyond cancer.
What makes it Elysium standard?
- Award winning restaurant
- Its own vineyard producing its own English sparkling wine
- Two on-site 18 hole golf courses and a clubhouse
- Set in 1000 acres of grounds and gardens
In a 1000 acre estate in the Cheshire countryside, and at the end of a mile long driveway to introduce you to your surroundings, lies Carden Park. This sprawling estate is where contemporary style and luxury combine with 196 rooms and suites ranging from Garden Luxury to Family suites and all offering lots of space, style and a warm welcome.
With its own on-site vineyard, it will come as no surprise that food and drink are a big deal. As such, there are two restaurants. There’s the not so cryptically named The Vines, where an informal atmosphere invites you to enjoy a leisurely lunch or a drink with friends including a glass of the Carden Park Estate Reserve sparkling wine produced from grapes grown onsite. There is also the more formal, Redmond’s which has an AA rosette for its fine dining overseen by Executive Chef, Harri Williams. There are also two bars: Morgan’s Bar for cocktails or coffees throughout the day, and Jack’s in the Clubhouse - just a 10 minute walk or two minute buggy ride from the main hotel and the place to go for post-golf tea and sandwiches.
