If you're driving, follow the M11 North, take junction exit 13 signposted Cambridge. Go past the park and ride (which is on your left), follow this road until you reach a small roundabout (outside Westminster College) take the first exit to the left. As you head around the corner on this road (about 50 yards) you will approach a junction with traffic lights. Take a right turn down the hill at this junction into Magdalene Street. As you pass Magdalene College then over the Historic Bridge, Thompsons Lane is further along (approx. 40 yards on your left) in front of the Church. They are located 100 yards down Thompsons Lane. A valet parking service is available on site.
The nearest train station is Cambridge Train Station, which is a 10-minute taxi ride away. The nearest airport is Stansted, which is 40 minutes away by car.

Next door to the hotel and making the most of its original structure, the spa at The Varsity Hotel is a chic world of white walls, exposed brickwork and wooden beams overlooking the river in the heart of Cambridge. Guests are provided with a towel, robes and slippers on arrival.
The Jacuzzi in particular takes in the best of the city views, and there is also a sauna, steam room and six treatment rooms including a double treatment room which can be requested on booking, offering Elemis treatments from facials and massages to manicures and pedicures. All spa guests get four hours use of facilities, and then the AVEDA salon on site also offers hair styling and blow drys to complete the pampering experience.
Continuing the theme in the spa, the hotel interiors combine rustic touches and ultra-modern features, with many of the suites boasting floor-to-ceiling glass windows that take in picturesque views of historic Cambridge.
The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill continues the decorative theme of exposed surfaces making it a casual but cosy environment for the grill menu and decadent dessert classics. There is also the restaurant SIX, which offers lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and drinks.
