At a glance
It is unusual to find a city as picturesque as this, but Cambridge is famed for its waterside beauty and historic architecture.
In the evening, the rooftop terrace becomes one of the most romantic spots in the city, particularly with a champagne cocktail in hand.
In the centre of historic Cambridge, the hotel and spa are conveniently located for exploring the city and its boutique-chic style shops with parking at park street car park.
The spa is situated next door to the hotel and offers an array of treatments. They ask that all spa guests arrive 15 minutes before their treatment. Facilities include: sauna, steam room and a Jacuzzi.
Spa & Leisure
Next door to the hotel and making the most of its original structure, the spa at The Varsity Hotel is a chic world of white walls, exposed brickwork and wooden beams overlooking the river in the heart of Cambridge. Guests are provided with a towel, robes and slippers on arrival.
The Jacuzzi in particular takes in the best of the city views, and there is also a sauna, steam room and six treatment rooms including a double treatment room which can be requested on booking, offering Elemis treatments from facials and massages to manicures and pedicures. All spa guests get four hours use of facilities, and then the AVEDA salon on site also offers hair styling and blow drys to complete the pampering experience.
Hotel & Accommodation
Continuing the theme in the spa, the hotel interiors combine rustic touches and ultra-modern features, with many of the suites boasting floor-to-ceiling glass windows that take in picturesque views of historic Cambridge.
The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill continues the decorative theme of exposed surfaces making it a casual but cosy environment for the grill menu and decadent dessert classics. There is also the restaurant SIX, which offers lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and drinks.
