Waterton Park Hotel & Spa is a privately owned hotel and spa at Walton Hall in Wakefield. For many years it was a private home, first built in 1767 and becoming the ancestral home of the naturalist and traveller Charles Waterton. Having served many purposes across the centuries, including being a maternity hospital for a while, in the late 1970’s it was bought by a local entrepreneur and turned into a country club. The Waterton Park Hotel has been privately owned since 1989.
