Bovey Castle

Housed in the Art Deco-inspired Orangery at Bovey Castle, the Elan Spa is one of those places that fuses a synergy with the natural surroundings with luxury and grandeur. Echoing the therapeutic flow of the nearby River Bovey, facilities are carefully considered, including a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, gym, wellness studio and a beautiful indoor swimming pool looking out across the landscape. There is also a sun terrace on-site which opens during the summer months.

Meanwhile, the spa uses product houses TEMPLESPA, BeautyLab and Jessica Nails in their treatments, which range from indulgent Champagne and Truffle facials to high performance massages. Furthermore, you can customise treatments with a little added extra, such as a hot stone massage or sedating oil scalp treatment. Therapists have also been trained by the Amethyst Trust ensuring they can provide treatments to anyone with a cancer diagnosis.

Bovey Castle is a five-star hotel that dates back to the turn of the 20th-century. It is surrounded by 275 acres of Dartmoor National Park, adding a sense of peace and calm as you relax amongst the sumptuous interiors. There are 59 rooms and suites divided between the extended former manor house and mews as well as 22 self-catering, three-storey granite lodges for larger groups and families. Interiors in the main house are opulent in a style befitting the English gentry, while the newly built lodges are rather more contemporary – stone floors, a neutral palette and lots of natural light.

For guests staying at the hotel, there are two restaurants to choose from. Smith’s Brasserie is an informal space serving a Mediterranean-inspired menu, while the Great Western Grill offers a more formal dining experience featuring classic English fare.
