I really enjoyed my spa day, Sophie who done my back ritual was lovely and she done a lovely massage , I would certainly use the spa again. I thought there should have been a bit more choice for lunch but overall it was great , the staff in all areas were very friendly, customer service brill.
I was very disappointed with my spa day. Having been to other spas this spa is definitely in need of renovation. The towels supplied were very small and the fact you had to go into the main bar for your afternoon tea was a little uncomfortable as you was sitting in your gown with other hotel guest who were dressed. I’d booked my afternoon tea for 1pm had to wait half an hour for food, so by the time it arrived we had finished our drinks. It was very disappointing as this was a treat for my daughters who had never had a spa experience before . Saying all the above we all really enjoyed our treatments and the staff doing them were very professional which is a shame as I felt the rest of the day was disappointing.
We had pre booked our spa treatments as part of the package and booked extras that were confirmed in an email trail. However they hadn’t booked in our extra treatments. They sorted out 2 members of the group to receive their extra treatments but couldn’t book the 3rd members treatment which meant she lost out. They offered us 30% off our treatments but that didn’t benefit the person who lost out. They can us a free drink which was nice but really not enough. The communication was poor and I don’t feel we got the full time allocated for our treatments, I.e. one of my treatments was for 1pm and I was still waiting at 1.10, again they weren’t busy so we couldn’t understand why. The facilities were nice but could do with an upgrade. The treatments were nice but didn’t feel we were given the full time allocated. The light lunch was amazing and we were really pleased with this.
Staff are friendly and professional and the food was lovely but unfortunately the condition of the spa facilities needs updating there are areas which are unclean, the steam and sauna rooms are tiny and need updating the pool is small and there isn’t a jacuzzi and there are only two hot beds which are placed above the pool, we found the day to be really relaxing, we had less than two hours using facilities, an hour for lunch and two hour treatments I don’t think you would need anymore time here.
On criticism I would have is that wasn’t big enough area for the amount of people visiting the spa, I went alone and gave up my lounge bed by the pool as wasn’t enough to go around! Apart from that was enjoyable
This is the second time I have visited Bridgewood Manor.
I knew the facilities layout wasn’t the best and I knew the treatment rooms are adjacent to the main walkway of the pool and changing rooms. This cannot be helped unless the layout was changed.
My treatments, although confirmed through Spabreaks.com, where booked in for at a different time when I arrived at the spa.
No full explanation or apology given by the members of staff at booking. Just a case of tough luck.
My treatment was done by Amber, it wasn’t the worst but it wasn’t the best. I didn’t feel very relaxed mainly due to the noise from outside the room. The main light although dimmed was directly positioned into my face, I prefer dark rooms.
Amber seemed to make a lot of noise whilst doing my facial, getting out and putting products away. And half way though my treatment was rustling with something for ages.
The treatment did leave my skin feeling refreshed but I have had facials.
I didn’t bring up the disappointment whilst I was there as the spa day was for my friends birthday and didn’t want to be negative on her special day.
We had a decent time at the spa. It was a little busy though so the first time we went to the pool we couldn’t find anywhere to sit. It’s good value for money but the pool area could do with a little facelift
QUALITY OF SPA AREA WAS NICE VERY DISAPPOINTED NO JACUZZI THAT WAS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS I BOOK A SPA FOR, MY PEDICURE WAS BEAUTIFUL VERY FRIENDLY STAFF BUT WE WERE CRAMMED INTO A VERY SMALL AREA THOUGH AND ME AND MY MUM HAVE HIP PROBLEMS YOUR CHAIRS DON'T CATER FOR THAT I HURT MY HIP DUE TO THE WAY I HAD TO HOLD MY FEET TO HAVE MY TOE NAILS PAINTED MY MUM STRUGGLED TO .
Definitely a very relaxing visit to the Spa for the afternoon. Very relaxing and revitalising treatment accompanying our steam, sauna, swim, heated beds and a delightful afternoon tea.
We will definitely be going again and would definitely recommend to anyone to visit.
Lovely and great value for money. Have to say Staff the very best. Every one were exceptional from Reception, Restaurant, Bar and Spa. The treatments were amazing. Among the best I have had.
The treatment was absolutely wonderful and I could have had another! The spa itself is rather tired and more like a public swimming bath, especially the changing rooms. Shame there’s no jacuzzi. I would recommend though as it was good value and the treatment was fab!
The spa is a little small, got over crowded about 3pm with nowhere to sit. The gym is dated. But the spa treatments and staff were excellent. Again, great value for money.
The actual spa area was lovely and the pool was warm and clean. The sauna and steam room were small but we were the only ones in there at the time. I wouldn’t like it when it was busy as there were limited chairs and relaxing beds.
However, the changing rooms were revolting, they smelt and did not look clean. Really not conducive to relaxing times. The hotel could do with spending a bit of money on these and also on the treatment rooms and these were shabby and a bit chilly. The treatments were excellent and the therapists were lovely.
With the exception of the reception staff and therapists, why is the spa so different from the hotel? It’s just not clean enough. I watched the “cleaner” push round a dirty mop which she dipped in absolutely filthy water. The floors were grubby and need steaming and deep cleaning. There was only one ladies toilet working and that was also in need of a proper clean. The door handles in the therapy rooms were sticky from oils. The locker and changing rooms were bright and well equipped, but the floors let them down. It is such a shame because it could be amazing. Keeping the public areas clean is top priority. Our lunch was served in the hotel bar and was top notch. We all enjoyed our treatments and would return.
What a lovely, value for money treat for me and my friends just before Christmas. A day at Bridgewood was just what was needed. The treatment was divine, time by the pool relaxing and afternoon tea maurish. A day to be repeated!
Claims to be family friendly but is certainly not. Didn't really understand why children were not allowed in the pool and yet there were toddlers being taught to swim during the restricted times. Rude Spa staff, I person in particular who was abusive to a 2 year old walking to the Spa to say goodbye to her auntie). Very run down and in need of repair. Spa lunch basic, cheap ingredients and tasteless. Treatments ok but would deter anyone I know of ever booking. Quite frankly a rip off of peoples hard earned cash
Customer care was excellent and everyone in our party of 5 found the treatments to be of a very high standard. Afternoon tea was served in a reserved table by the fire and scones were straight from the oven and sandwiches fresh and good selection of cakes.
Decor is a little tired but the hotel I believe is just about to be refurbished
A very relaxing experience. We would go again. All the staff were very helpful
The steam room can just about fit 2 grown adults! The spa really needs a makeover, even if the decor is intended to be vintage.. it could be.. abit spruced up. But I still enjoyed my stay
The spa has a heated pool (it wasn't warm), a sauna, a steam bath and two hot beds. Everything look a bit old but was OK. The afternoon tea was good, although we had to ask for the bubbles included on that.
We booked two 60 minutes treatments from 5pm to 6pm but nobody came until 5:05pm and at 5:55pm we were already outside the treatment room, so, if it consists in a 60min. treatment (50min. massage + 10min. consultation) it should be that, a 60min. treatment. The treatments were good, with Espa products.
The accommodation was excellent. We were welcomed by staff and they were helpful. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. The restaurant was nice, but the service for dinner was quite slow considering we were the only ones in there for dinner. That waitress was lovely though. The menu had variety.
The hotel was in a good location. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food in the restaurant was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. There was a nice relaxing atmosphere in the bar area were we sat and had after dinner drinks.
However the hotel was very dated and in need of modernisation. The sauna and steam room were not in the best condition and some of the furniture in our room could have done with replacing. I would say the hotel was three star not four as it is currently rated.
We had a really lovely and relaxing stay at Bridgewood, but it was definitely made by the staff. Everyone we met was unbelievably friendly, polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They should be really proud of the people they have working for them.
BEAUTIFUL DAY HELPED BY THE WEATHER, VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE HOTEL ROOMS WERE SPOTLESS BED OUT OF THIS WORLD, WALK IN SHOWER WITH A GRAB RAIL FANTASTIC AS I HAVE A MOBILTY PROBLEM AS DOES MY MUM WHO I SHARED A ROOM WITH,A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED WE HAD TO PAY EXTRA FOR OUR ROOM TO BE READY EARLY,ROOM ON FIRST LEVEL GREAT FOR OUR MOBILTY PROBLEMS STAFF VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL A BIT DISSAPOINTED WITH MY LUNCH COMPRESSED CHICKEN IN MY SANDWICH NOT CHICKEN BREAST AS TOLD BY A MEMBER OF STAFF WHEN ASKED AND MY BREAD WAS STALE BUT DESERT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD,VERY PLEASED A MEMBER OF STAFF PUT A HEATER ON FOR US AS IT WAS A LITTLE CHILLY IN THE EVENING .
We purchased a Spay overnight stay. From minute one the Staff were way above any 5 star experience. Accommodating, Helpful, efficient, Professional and extremely welcoming. The offer was amazing value. The hotel and facilities very nice indeed. An excellent stay. Thank You.
Pleasant staff who sorted issues out swiftly. The room was basic but did smell of stale smoke. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
Food was very good. Overall a pleasant stay and good value.
The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. We were celebrating an anniversary and they made us feel very special with bubbly in the room,a free upgrade to a superior room and romantic table decoration at diner. Cant fault the service. The hotel itself is a little dated but the value for for money on this spa break is very impressive.
The hotel was really lovely and the staff all so friendly and helpful. Our lunch was upgraded to buffet which was delicious.
There were some events going on which made the hotel busier but it didn’t affect our stay.
My and friend's thought at the beginning was that the hotel is old and needs some modernisation. Even though we still hold that view, we were impressed by the warm of the staff, the expertise of the spa staff and especially with the meals both dinner and breakfast. The allocated waitress (Tracy) was very kind and helpful to us. She ensured that we were comfortable. I'd recommend Bridge Manor to friends and family. It's homely and good value for money !!!
From arrival to departure we cannot fault the hotel and staff. All the hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Special mention for the two bar staff and dinner waitress on Thursday night. They were brilliant. From mixing Aperol Spritz to helping us choose our wine and menu. Great sense of humours!
Our rooms were clean and well equipped. Bed linen and towels were lovely. All in all a great stay.
The hotel was okay. There was a staff member behind reception with long blonde hair, she was very helpful. There was a things that I didn’t like with the hotel which was, the rooms got very cold at night and they have no central heating, only a radiator which doesn’t warm up quickly.
Because of our treatments with the spa, I booked dinner really early and I asked at reception to change it. She said she will load up the screen and then tell me if it’s possible. While she waited a couple of minutes for the screen she went to get our bags from the cupboard. She then asked someone instead of waiting for the screen to check and she came back and told us no we couldn’t change the times as they was fully booked. Whilst at dinner, our time was 7pm and we wanted to move it to 8pm. No one was seated after 8pm, there was empty tables so to me I could have changed the times for our dinner which I didn’t understand.
Last thing, there was so many Christmas parties going on and no one had informed us. The noise was insane as it was all different types of music cause there was numerous parties. Just a little heads up would have been appreciated.
Probably the worst Spa experience I've had. This is not a family friendly spa as it claims to be. Spa staff Rude rude rude!!!! Restaurants/bar staff friendly but inexperienced and we waited an hour for our food which was to be quite honest inedible. Hotel shabby and in need of repair.
Lovely value for money hotel. Couple of issues with the room including a £20 early check in charge (bit cheeky as this was presented as 'your room is not ready but for £20 we can move you - yeah right). First room we checked into the loo seat was broken. We were moved straight away but this sort of made more of a mockery of the £20 mentioned above as clearly they had numerous rooms ready. Also pillows were very hard (personal preference tho I guess). Everything else was brilliant and treatments AMAZING. Spa could do with a jacuzzi tho.
The hotel is run down and needs this make over
It should have been cheaper considering it’s about to have lots of money spent on it.
We asked for a fridge in our room, and didn’t get one very disappointed
