The Falls Spa is a calming retreat where nature, luxury and wellbeing come together effortlessly. Purpose-built to embrace its Lake District setting, every detail has been designed to help you switch off and feel truly immersed in the landscape. Whether you're sinking into the warmth of the spa or simply gazing out from a poolside lounger, panoramic views of the lake and fells surround you – even on the rainiest days. It’s a space where the outside feels close, and relaxation comes naturally.
The star of the show is the 16-metre outdoor hydrotherapy infinity pool – a spectacular spot to soak and unwind with neck massage jets, underwater loungers, and an overflow hot tub area that opens up to uninterrupted views of Derwentwater and Catbells. Nearby, a glass-fronted Finnish sauna and open-air drench bucket complete the invigorating outdoor experience.
Inside, the thermal suite invites you to move at your own pace through a laconium, aroma steam room, herbal sauna, salt steam room, ice fountain, drench showers and heated relaxation loungers. And for something more immersive, the four-person rasul offers a traditional mud ritual – a wonderfully messy and detoxifying experience to enjoy with a friend or as a group of four.
Therapeutic treatments are central to the spa experience. There are five indulgent treatment rooms where expert therapists use products by Elemis and Ishga – brands chosen for their luxurious, results-driven therapies. With so much to enjoy, you’ll want to spend a full day unwinding here. There’s plenty of space to simply relax and soak up the scenery, and a stylish Champagne bar serving light refreshments so you never have to change out of your robe.
Nestled in the blissful Borrowdale Valley, the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa has stood pride of place amidst the Lake District’s dramatic landscape for over two centuries. Today, this warm and welcoming country house hotel fuses historic charm with stylish contemporary design and hospitality. From elegant lounges with open fires to the chic new spa building, every aspect of the hotel invites guests to relax and feel at home in luxurious comfort.
Exquisitely decorated, the hotel’s 87 rooms and suites offer modern design, soothing colours and high-class amenities. Many have views of the surrounding lakes or fells, and 23 of them are dedicated luxury spa suites, allowing guests to stay just a robe’s length away from the spa for ultimate convenience. The hotel is also proudly dog-friendly – a must in such prime walking territory – with select rooms where even four-legged friends are treated to a little luxury during their stay.
When it comes to dining, the hotel offers an international journey for the tastebuds. Mizu is the hotel’s acclaimed pan-Asian restaurant, serving Japanese, Malaysian and Thai-inspired dishes, all set against the spectacular backdrop of the Lodore Falls waterfall. Meanwhile, The Falls Brasserie serves modern British cuisine crafted from local ingredients in a chic yet casual setting. It’s an elegant dining space – complete with panoramic lake views. For lighter fare and daytime refreshments, the Lake View lounge bar, cozy library lounges, conservatory and outdoor terrace are perfect spots to relax. Enjoy morning coffee, light lunches or evening cocktails in these inviting spaces while admiring views of the gardens and Derwentwater. When weather permits, you can dine al fresco on the terrace, and for an extra treat be sure to experience the hotel’s beautifully presented afternoon tea – a modern twist on a classic indulgence that is not to be missed.
