Spa & Leisure

Part of the Shire Hotels group, the spa at North Lakes Hotel features exposed wooden beams to create an award winning, relaxed country retreat on the outskirts of Penrith. Alongside the scenic location, facilities include a gym and exercise classes, a pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, and a steam room as well as a splash pool.

There are also six treatment rooms using the combined powers of ESPA, and the natural Ytsara products in a collection of treatments ranging from facials and massages to manicures and pedicures for something a little more indulgent to complete the experience. They use Mii make-up and tanning, and with plenty of space to unwind in their Spa Sanctuary and Spa Relax, you don’t want to miss out.

Hotel & Accommodation

Modern on the outside and clean and classic on the inside, North Lakes Hotel and Spa is part of the Thwaites collection, awarded the AA Hotel Group of The Year Award in 2016. It sits on the edge of the Lake District and is an ideal base for exploring the area known for its natural beauty and scenic walking routes. The rooms all stock Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries amongst the finer details, while the Four Poster suites also have the further luxuries of additional space, seating areas, and those all-important fluffy bathrobes.

The hotel’s restaurant is characterised by timber beams and no less than six fires, while making the most of its natural surroundings as well. Meanwhile, thanks to head chef, Doug Hargreaves, the menu offers a distinct Cumbrian twist whether you’re popping into the bar, café or restaurant area, and is always produced with fresh, local ingredients.
