Described as ‘Hertfordshire’s hedonist hideaway’, leisure at Pendley Manor takes a variety of forms. With all that outside space, it would be remiss not to take a wander in the grounds, whether it’s summer strolls or donning those wellies and a coat to brace the winter chill. Alternatively, you can play a round of croquet on the lawn or visit a nearby golf course. Meanwhile, the spa and leisure facilities are a light-filled haven of rest and relaxation. Work out in the Life Fitness gym, take a dip in the calming lap pool, or revive with a sauna and steam.
The spa also has a treatment menu offering a range of face and body therapies using the ESPA and Jessica product lines. From prescription facials and aromatherapy massages to manicures and pedicures, the spa is all about indulgence and tailoring treatments to suit your needs. Choose from Lava Shell massages or reflexology, then complete your spa day with a restorative healthy lunch, designed with wellbeing in mind.
A sumptuous Grade II listed manor house in Hertfordshire, Pendley Manor is a staycation haven with more than 1000 years of history to its site. Set in 35 acres of grounds, this red brick retreat is a sophisticated Tudor revival property enveloped by immaculate lawns. Inside it’s all grand staircases, high ceilings and a sense of regal grandeur. The range of rooms and suites go from Classic Doubles in the Manor House itself to elaborate suites, some of which are located in more contemporary buildings within the grounds. Either way, decor is a combination of opulent style and modern finishings.
Dining is very much a sensory experience as well here. The award-winning Oak Restaurant serves delectable British fare in quintessential country house surroundings. Food is about taste as well as impeccable presentation, however for something a little more relaxed, there’s also the Peacock Lounge for light meals and drinks. This light conservatory space is where plush furnishings with floral details sit under a majestic chandelier; and the room brings the outside in. For a final flourish, a drink in The Shakespeare Bar is a real treat. This wood-panelled hideaway is perfect for quiet contemplation, romantic evenings or sitting with a good book and a strong drink by the hand-carved fireplace.
