Every now and again you come across a spa experience that is entirely different to any other, and that was certainly the goal at Ruthin Castle’s The Moat. The spa rests in the rustic woodland grounds of an authentic Welsh castle and its moat so treatments alongside the environment really are designed to relax your mind and revive your spirit whether you’re visiting for half an hour or half a day. Inspired by Finnish, Russian and Siberian experiences, the spa and health club facilities include a sauna, steam room, relaxation area and a gym. There are also five treatment rooms, including a VIP couple’s room with a copper bath.
The treatments are equally unique as well – all bespoke and use Elemis. The collection includes detoxifying body wraps, relaxing salt and oil scrubs and skin solution facials. Other product houses used at the spa also include Jessica, Gelish, and Bare Minerals. The whole experience is about lifting your spirits and escaping the daily grind for a while in an experience akin to a fairytale.
