During World War One it became an army hospital before being re-transformed into a hotel in the late 1940s. In 1997, Alison and Chris Wilson acquired Balmer Lawn, refurbishing it and making it the hotel it is today.

Their facilities include an indoor and an outdoor pool, a fully equipped gym, six treatment rooms, and spa bath adjoining the indoor pool. Balmer Lawn Hotel also boasts a range of other activities, such as walking, cycling, horse riding, and mountain biking.
Their go-to product house is ESPA, and you can rest assured you will be well looked after in the capable hands of their friendly staff who are all trained in using the products. Treatments available at the spa are plentiful and include massages, facials, scalp treatments, aromatherapy, body wraps, detoxes, scrubs, foot treatments, and treatments specifically for men.
