Set in the hotel grounds, the spa is a light and contemporary space that’s wonderfully welcoming and refreshing and it is beautifully offset by the wider facilities within the grounds. Guests in the cottages often enjoy lounging in the evening and watching a film or sipping Prosecco in the hot tub and having a chat. Swim in the outdoor pool, play games like pitch and putt, table tennis, tennis, pétanque, croquet if the weather is right and definitely spend a little time having afternoon tea. Try your hand at falconry if the mood strikes, play a round of golf on their nine hole course, or go for a walk in the extensive grounds.
Meanwhile, the Champneys spa has a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities to enjoy over the course of the day. There’s a large pool with beautiful loungers around it that reach the edge so you can slip into the water and then retreat to cabana style spaces. There is a thermal area with a hydro pool, exercise classes if you want to go into them, and a sauna and steam room to use before treatments which use Elemis and Decleor product lines as well as their own Champneys Collection. There are also thoughtful details included such as GHD straighteners and Dyson hairdryers in the changing rooms.
Eastwell Manor is very much a tale of two halves, bringing together the best of health spa experiences alongside luxury hotel destinations. The latest addition to the Champneys collection, while the hotel itself is a luxurious and unequivocally romantic Elizabethan manor house that’s very much about decadence, the spa is an adult only haven of wellness. In 62 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens in Kent, Eastwell Manor is an Elizabethan manor house enjoying far reaching views of the North Downs. Inside, the main building, the 23 rooms and suites are wonderfully romantic. Traditional in style with heritage colours, mullioned windows, a number of four poster beds and reflecting the historic character of the property. Meanwhile, in the grounds a variety of further options await. In the converted Victorian stables, 39 Mews Suites provide spacious and contemporary accommodation, some with private terraces and living areas. They are almost like private cottages - perfect for groups of friends. A more recent addition to the hotel are the picture perfect Shepherd's Huts - cosy, contemporary and intimate, they are a private retreat built for two.
The Manor Restaurant is at the heart of the hotel, a formal but intimate wood-panelled dining room for lunch and dinner, where food is heavily influenced by the surrounding Kent countryside including local wines. For a complete spa experience however, you can enjoy a healthy breakfast or lunch in the spa’s own restaurant where you are greeted by a beautiful array of fresh fruit, juices, breads, smoked salmon, granolas, cheese, coffees and teas. Those staying in the cottages can also order in.
