At a glance
Salcombe is filled with boutiques and restaurants where you can while away the day purchasing artisan fare and enjoying local favourites. Head to the pink and white striped Cranch’s Sweetshop for an old school experience, the Salcombe Gin Factory for drinks with a view, and in the summer join in the nostalgic fun and games of the Town Regatta in August.
Salcombe and the nearby surrounding area is home to some of the most exceptional beaches for winter walks and splashing about in the summer. The hotel is in the centre of the town, but is a 15 minute walk from North Sands, you can get the East Portlemouth Ferry to a collection of beautiful beaches across the water, or the chocolate box perfect red, blue and yellow South Sands Ferry to (you guessed it) South Sands.
Salcombe is experienced at its finest in the sunshine, but come rain or shine there’s plenty to see and do. Walks along the coast path are perhaps amongst the most pleasing forms of entertainment (and exercise), while you can also try your hand at sailing, kayaking, waterskiing and plenty of other waters ports close by.
In one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, surrounded by conservation areas and the South West Coast Path, you could not be in a better location to enjoy this exceptional part of the UK, than the Salcombe Harbour Hotel. Rooms, suites and the restaurant as well as a beautiful terrace overhang the waters edge and offer panoramic views of the famous estuary. In the summer months during the Sailing Regatta it is the best place in town to watch the boats go by with a drink in hand.
The hotel welcomes families but has an intrinsic sense of romance to it. Very much a luxury experience, but one that fits with the easy going nature of a seaside town, it is the little details that really set it apart. Luxury linens in all the rooms and suites as well as decanters of gin and sherry and a set of binoculars so that you can take full advantage of the best views in town for watching the sailing boats go by.
This recently renovated hotel offers luxury standards from the linens in the bedrooms to the opulent spa treatments. With panoramic views of the sea from around the hotel, and a contemporary coastal theme throughout, it is all about easy going elegance. The spa meanwhile is the ideal place to soothe aching muscles after long walks, with a small but perfectly formed pool complete with hydrotherapy jets, private cabanas, a sauna, steam room, pebble room and beautiful spa treatments using a combination of ESPA and their own HarSPA products.

Hotel & Accommodation
In the seaside town of Salcombe, best known for its beautiful scenery, superb ice cream and sailing, the Salcombe Harbour Hotel sits pride of place, nestled into the cliffs looking out to sea. Perfectly located for enjoying the town, the nearby beaches and for simply taking in the views, the award-winning hotel underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment in recent years, which secured its position as one of the leading destinations in South Devon. Impeccably stylish, guests stay in contemporary rooms and suites where luxury linens and modern style meet coastal chic. You start the day breathing in the sea air from your private balcony, and you can finish it nursing a glass of gin or sherry (provided in each room) and watching the sun set over the estuary.
The hotel’s restaurant, The Jetty, is at the centre of the whole hotel experience. With floor to ceiling windows maximising the natural light, you are in prime position to watch the boats bob by over breakfast, lunch, dinner and all the bits in between. South Devon is famed for its local seafood in particular, so it is fitting that alongside many other beautiful dishes, crab, mussels, lobster and local fish sit pride of place on the menu. Also in the local larder is the exceptional local clotted cream to go with afternoon teas and Salcombe’s very own gin from the distillery around the corner.
